Agricultural crop spraying for weed, insect, and fungal control as well as application of fertilizers and nutrients is a beneficial and necessary component of modern crop management. These chemicals may be applied by direct ground spraying or arial spraying over fields. Agricultural chemical use is regulated by both the state and federal Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) to assure that these chemicals are applied properly to avoid possible personal or environmental harm. Resident complaints of the misapplication (overspray) of agricultural chemicals are investigated and handled by the Illinois EPA. Residents may utilize the attached form to register complaints regarding the misapplication of chemicals for investigation of misapplication and overspray in residential areas.
